- Where is the office I would need to go to if I was coming in to see a therapist?
We currently offer in-person mental health services in Hagerstown at 330 Frederick Street, or in Frederick at 427 E. Patrick Street. We also offer virtual services from both of these locations that can be conducted to anyone within the state of MD.
- Can I also meet with a psychiatrist for medication or a psychiatric evaluation?
Yes. We currently partner with Antietam Family Health for psychiatry services that are available to patients who see our therapists. Psychiatric appointments can be conducted in person or virtually. Please note that a patient must also see Antietam Family Health for somatic/primary care services, if they wish to receive psychiatric services as well.
- Do I have to be enrolled in therapy if I want to see the psychiatrist for medication management services or a psychiatric evaluation?
Yes. Therapy enrollment and attendance is required in order to see the psychiatrist.
- Don’t you offer substance use disorder treatment for adults? How are you able to also offer mental health services that are open to the public, including children and families?
Wells House has worked hard to expand our services to allow for a range of treatment modalities that can treat various issues. We have offices in both Hagerstown and Frederick that are fully staffed and create a safe and professional environment for those in our housing services, as well as community members, to receive services from trained staff who recognize that treatment for mental health and substance abuse is not one-size fits all.
